Agreement to these terms
These iOS Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Mahjong Trainer, bundle identifier com.cedar.mahjongtrainer, provided by Cedar Theory LLC. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
Your use is also subject to the iOS Privacy Policy and the iOS EULA supplement. The iOS EULA supplement incorporates Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple's applicable App Store and Apple Media Services terms also apply.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app. If you are not legally able to enter into this agreement, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept it for you where permitted by law.
The service
Mahjong Trainer is an educational American Mahjong practice app. It provides lessons, exercises, progress features, optional local reminder notifications, and optional premium access. The app does not require a Cedar Theory LLC account.
Learning progress, streaks, settings, and reminder preferences are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app generally deletes this local data. Cedar Theory LLC does not maintain a server-side learning profile that can restore locally stored progress.
Purchases, plans, and introductory offers
Premium access may be purchased through Apple's StoreKit as one of these auto-renewable subscriptions:
- Monthly: mahjongtrainer.subscriptions.monthly
- Annual: mahjongtrainer.subscriptions.annual
The purchase screen shows the subscription name, duration, localized price, currency, and any taxes or eligible introductory offer before you confirm. Apple determines offer eligibility based on your Apple Account and purchase history.
Monthly plan
The monthly plan may show a 7-day free trial only when Apple confirms that you are eligible. If Apple does not confirm eligibility, no trial is offered. If you begin an eligible trial and do not cancel before it ends, Apple charges the monthly price displayed when you subscribed and the plan begins renewing monthly.
Annual plan
The annual plan has no trial unless Apple reports and displays a specific introductory offer to you before purchase. Otherwise, Apple charges the displayed annual price when you confirm the purchase and the plan begins renewing annually.
Payment, renewal, and billing
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when an eligible free trial ends.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same billing period unless you cancel before the end of the current trial or billing period in accordance with Apple's displayed terms.
- Apple charges the renewal to your Apple Account using the payment method associated with that account. Apple's then-current renewal timing applies.
- Apple may notify you and request consent before a price increase where required. Taxes may apply.
Cedar Theory LLC does not receive or store your full payment card details. If Apple cannot collect a payment, access may continue during a billing retry or grace period where Apple supports one, and may end when that period expires.
Cancellation and expiration
You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. You may use the subscription-management link presented in the app or visit Apple's subscription management page.
Cancellation stops future renewal. Unless Apple states otherwise, you retain premium access through the end of the already-paid billing period. Cancel before an eligible trial ends to avoid conversion to a paid monthly subscription, subject to Apple's cancellation timing.
Deleting Mahjong Trainer does not cancel a subscription. Canceling a subscription does not automatically delete the app or its locally stored learning data.
Restore purchases and refunds
Restore Purchases
Use Restore Purchases in the app to ask StoreKit to restore an eligible subscription associated with the Apple Account used for the purchase. Restoration requires Apple to report a valid entitlement. If restoration does not work, confirm that the correct Apple Account is active and contact Mahjong Trainer support.
Refunds
Apple processes App Store payments and decides refund requests under its policies and applicable law. Cedar Theory LLC cannot issue an App Store refund directly. You may request a refund at Apple's Report a Problem page or through another refund channel Apple makes available.
Premium access may end if Apple refunds, revokes, or reverses a transaction. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be limited.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, publish, or commercially exploit the app or its content without permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code except where applicable law expressly permits it
- Circumvent subscription checks, access controls, security measures, or usage restrictions
- Introduce malicious code or interfere with the app, StoreKit, the App Store, or another person's use
- Misrepresent your entitlement, misuse support channels, or use the app for unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent activity
Educational content disclaimer
Mahjong Trainer is an educational practice tool, not an official rules authority, tournament judge, or guarantee of game results. American Mahjong rules, card interpretations, conventions, and rulings may differ by league, publication, year, table, or tournament. Content may become outdated or may not reflect a particular organizer's interpretation.
You are responsible for consulting the official card and rules that apply to your game. Cedar Theory LLC does not promise that use of the app will improve competitive results. Mahjong Trainer is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or any mahjong league unless expressly stated otherwise.
Intellectual property and feedback
Mahjong Trainer, including its source and object code, design, text, lessons, exercises, graphics, audiovisual material, and branding, is owned by Cedar Theory LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The app is licensed, not sold, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.
If you voluntarily send suggestions or feedback, you grant Cedar Theory LLC a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback without compensation or obligation to you. This does not transfer ownership of personal information or override the iOS Privacy Policy.
Availability and warranty disclaimer
Cedar Theory LLC may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features, content, or subscription offerings. The app may depend on Apple services and compatible hardware or software that Cedar Theory LLC does not control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mahjong Trainer and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Apple's Standard EULA contains additional provisions concerning warranties and product claims.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cedar Theory LLC and its licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, opportunities, or expected savings, arising from or related to Mahjong Trainer or your inability to use it, even if advised that such damages may occur.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cedar Theory LLC's total aggregate liability arising from or related to the app or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for Mahjong Trainer subscriptions during the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law and do not limit non-waivable rights.
Termination
You may stop using and delete the app at any time, but you must separately cancel an active subscription to prevent future renewal. Cedar Theory LLC may suspend access to app features or terminate your license if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the app, or if required by law or Apple.
On termination, your right to use the app ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive remain effective, including payment obligations already incurred, intellectual property, feedback rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and this sentence.
Changes to the app or these terms
Cedar Theory LLC may revise these Terms to reflect changes to the app, subscriptions, Apple requirements, business practices, or applicable law. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Where required, additional notice or consent will be provided.
Your continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree to a revision, stop using the app and cancel any active subscription before its next renewal.
